My thoughts about standard of living

The countries with higher standard of living are very obligated to help other countries with a lower standard of living because if they help them, then the other countries would more likely not go to war with them. So both countries benefit to it. Also countries like the United States have more leisure time to help out.

A country’s standard of living shows how the average of the people live. So it doesn’t show how everyone lives because some people could be really rich and live in giant houses in that county. But if there aren’t a lot of people that rich then they aren’t really a part of the standard of living. The US for example, there are a lot of rich people in big houses but there are also people who don’t have anywhere to live. Then there are people with a house that is kinda big, but they aren’t rich. Others could have small one level houses because they can’t afford anything bigger. That is why a country’s standard of living doesn’t show how everyone in that country lives.

The most interesting thing I learned about standard of living is that South Africa has a terrible health. This is interesting because most of the other things are quite good and I heard that it was a great country. I was surprised about how low their health was and when I looked at more of it, I just thought it was weird because they have almost 95% access to safe water. Also I saw that a lot of infants would die and there weren’t many doctors. Which I am really curious about.
